HOW MUSIC MAKES US FEEL

In November, 2021, I conducted a survey to study how music makes us feel.
These were the questions in the survey:
1. What is the name of your current favorite song and the artist/group who created it?
2. Why is this your favorite song?
3. How does this song make you feel when you listen to it?
4. Does this song bring back any memories for you?
I received 36 responses.
Below are the favorite songs of those who took the survey.

of survey-takers said that the song they chose made them feel happy, energized, and/or empowered.

of survey-takers said that the song they chose made them feel calm, relaxed, and/or comforted.

CONCLUSION
Music has the power to make us feel such a wide range of emotions. Often it makes us feel happy or calm. Yet, we still love it even if it makes us feel sad or angry. Sometimes it brings us back to moments in our past and sometimes it inspires us to think about the future. Even though we listen to so many different genres and artists, we are all connected through the way music makes us feel.
